About Philippa Borland
Founder and CEO
Philippa Borland is the founder and principal consultant of ERIS Consulting. She brings more than 20 years of experience across government, higher education, not-for-profit organisations and national events. Her work spans community engagement, placemaking, strategic communications, facilitation, protocol and stakeholder strategy – with an enduring commitment to helping organisations work authentically with the people they serve.
She holds an Advanced Certificate in Engagement through the Engagement Institute (formerly IAP2 Australasia), a Master of Management from the University of Technology Sydney, and an Honours degree in English Literature and Modern History from Macquarie University. She is an Engagement Institute Individual Member and has completed specialist development in facilitation, AI ethics, digital engagement and strategic communication.
Earlier in her career, Philippa worked in environments requiring security-aware operations and close attention to protocol during high-profile events. While that clearance is no longer active, the discipline, judgement and sensitivity gained through that work continue to inform her approach to complex projects, delicate stakeholder environments and reputation-aware engagement.
Alongside her consulting work, Philippa is a lifelong creative practitioner with a strong background in writing, design and the arts. She brings a unique blend of strategic clarity, creative insight and community focus to every project – helping clients communicate with purpose, build trust and create places that feel welcoming, authentic and people-centred.
